Altered expression of specific genes in response to RF fields similar to those emitted by mobile telephones have been reported in the last few years. As these studies cannot be considered to have been truly reproduced yet, the alteration of a series of genes in response to simulated GSM exposure is currently under investigation in a joint-effort with the project partner. The group is mainly involved in the development of a dosimetric exposure system and the dosimetric assessment of the exposure of laboratory animals. The project is being funded by the mobile telecommunications industry.
