According to a recent report in the Chicago Tribune, Apple and Samsung phones released over the last three years may be producing RF radiation at higher levels than Federal Communications Commission limits allow.
The FCC requires Smartphone manufacturers to abide by guidelines designed to limit radio-frequency radiation absorption by the human body. The current measurement is called the “specific absorption rate,” or SAR.
According to the Tribune’s report, the FCC has set the limit at 1.6 watts per kilogram (1.6W/kg), averaged over 1 gram of tissue. The FCC says that this limit is “well below that at which laboratory testing indicates… adverse health effects could occur.”
This statement from the FCC needs to be addressed because it is simply not true.
In what may be the most criminally underreported story in memory, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, in 2018, nominated a very important radio-frequency radiation study to the National Toxicology Program, due to widespread human exposure and limited information about the potential health effects of long-term use of cell phones.
The most recent National Toxicology Program studies prove there is a link between cell phones and cancer.
The National Institutes of Health/ National Toxicology Program website updated on Nov. 9, 2018, released final reports from their rat and mouse studies, and a newly updated fact sheet citing “Clear Evidence” of cancer from cell phone level radiation.
National Toxicology Program studies found that exposure to radio- frequency radiation, similar to what is experienced by hundreds of millions (if not billions) of consumers on 3G cell phones and networks worldwide, was associated with:
1) Clear evidence of tumors in the hearts of male rats. – The tumors were malignant schwannomas.
2) Some evidence of tumors in the brains of male rats. -The tumors were malignant gliomas.
3) Some evidence of tumors in the adrenal glands of male rats. -The tumors were pheochromocytomas.
Ronald Melnick, Ph.D., who led the design of the National Toxicology Program study in his 28-year career as a scientist at the National Toxicology Program, said: “An important lesson that should be learned from this is we can no longer assume any current or future wireless technology is safe.” He also stated “The NTP studies in experimental animals were designed to test the long-held assumption that radio-frequency radiation at seemingly ‘low’ non-thermal exposure intensities could not cause harmful health effects. It failed the test. Cell phone radiation clearly caused cancer in these animals.”
Anthony Miller MD, University of Toronto Dalla Lana School of Public Health Professor Emeritus, said: “This animal evidence, together with the extensive human evidence, coupled with the rising incidence of brain cancers in young people in the U.S., conclusively confirms that radio-frequency radiation is a Category 1 human carcinogen.”
It is unknown why the FCC is not taking this information into consideration since there is clear evidence that cell phone use has now been scientifically linked to cancer.
In related news, Digital Media Net reports that due to the Tribune’s report, the class-action law firm of Fegan Scott has now launched an investigation into the matter.
