The safety of mobile communications devices has recently come under intense scrutiny. At issue is the possible tumor promoting effect of electromagnetic exposure from mobile communication devices. Aiming to clarify some of these issues, a series of cell and animal experiments are being performed by the neurological research group at the Loma Linda VA Medical Center, CA (USA). The studies are being supported by dosimetric studies performed by our research group. The objectives of the experiments are to identify the possible enhanced risk of malignant brain tumors resulting from exposure to mobile telephones.
