Urgent Request for Clarification on Elon Musk’s Potential Role in Auditing Federal Regulatory Agencies
Dear Nicole Shanahan,
I hope this message finds you well. As the founder of RF Safe, an organization that has been advocating for public health protection from wireless radiation for over 25 years, ever since wireless radiation was attributed to the loss of my daughter, Angel Leigh Coates, I am reaching out to you with an urgent concern that has arisen within our community of members.
Many of our members who strongly support RFK Jr. have been closely following your recent alignment with Donald Trump. While most of your positions are supported, the possibility of Elon Musk being appointed to audit federal regulatory agencies, particularly those responsible for public health, has caused significant alarm within our community.
The outlook of such an outcome will weigh heavily on their final choice on election day. We desperately request clarification on this issue of FCC regulatory capture leading to increased chronic disease in America because of outdated FCC safety guidelines—something for which RFK Jr. is a hero for leading the charge by taking the FCC to court and winning, proving these guidelines do not provide protection for our children.
Elon Musk’s public statements on wireless radiation, particularly his comment that he wouldn’t be worried if he had “a helmet of cell phones strapped around [his] head, and around [his] nuts,” reflect a troubling disregard for the substantial body of scientific evidence indicating the potential health risks associated with electromagnetic radiation. Given his stance, the prospect of Musk having influence over agencies like the FCC, which has historically been criticized for being too close to industry interests, is deeply concerning.
Elon, the guy putting cell towers in space, saying that microwave radiation is ok, is like the CEO of Coca-Cola saying that Coca-Cola doesn’t cause diabetes…
We would greatly appreciate your clarification on this matter. Specifically, do you support Musk’s involvement in auditing federal regulatory agencies, especially those tasked with protecting public health? Your stance on this issue will be instrumental in guiding our community’s future actions and support. We have only one agenda: stop children from being harmed by toxic entropic waste. The FCC hasn’t fixed the misclassification of RF Risk to reflect the current state of science. The people must reclaim this agency, and the NTP wireless radiation cancer research that was ended this year under Biden-Harris MUST be restarted!
I look forward to your response and hope that together, we can ensure that the health and safety of the public, particularly our children, remains the highest priority.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.
Sincerely,
John Coates

I have also posted an Open Letter to Elon Musk, RFK Jr., and Trump regarding these public health and regulatory capture issues.
The overwhelming body of scientific research underscores the significant health risks associated with exposure to electromagnetic radiation (EMF) at levels emitted by cell phones. Major studies and reviews, including the Interphone study, the Hardell group studies, the CERENAT study, the U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP), the Ramazzini Institute Study, the REFLEX Project, and the BioInitiative Report, alongside the extensive work of researchers like Dr. Henry Lai, collectively highlight the potential dangers of EMF exposure. It is not only scientifically unfounded but ethically irresponsible to dismiss these potential risks.
The implications of this evidence are profound, particularly in light of the emerging understanding that the misclassification of radiofrequency radiation (RFR) risks has hindered the development of life-saving medical interventions. A recent review has pointed out the “yet untapped therapeutic potential of RF-EMF treatment,” which could help in damaging cancer cells through bioelectrical and electromechanical molecular mechanisms while minimizing adverse effects on healthy tissues. This suggests that the current regulatory approach, which focuses narrowly on thermal effects, is dangerously outdated.
This issue is perhaps one of the most crucial of our modern era. Advancements in RF radiation research are increasingly revealing biological interactions that go beyond the traditionally understood thermal effects. For instance, the FDA-approved TheraBionic treatment employs RF radiation at power levels up to 1,000 times lower than those emitted by cell phones to effectively treat inoperable liver cancer. This treatment works through non-thermal interactions at the cellular or molecular level, including resonance effects, disruption of cellular signaling, and potential modulation of the immune system. These findings directly challenge the traditional view that non-ionizing radiation from cell phones is biologically inert except for its heating properties.
Given these revelations, it is imperative that the outdated FCC guidelines be revised to reflect the latest scientific understanding. Moreover, the Biden-Harris administration’s decision to halt the National Toxicology Program’s (NTP) cancer research must be urgently reconsidered and reversed. The protection of public health cannot afford to be compromised by outdated science or political considerations.
This is not the time to downplay the issue. The facts are clear and undisputed, and they must be the foundation upon which safety guidelines are evaluated and established. The public has a right to be informed and protected based on the best available scientific evidence, not on politics or industry influence.
