Mr. Trump, The Time to Act Is Now
Mr. President, the issue is not the technology itself. It’s not the cell towers, the Wi-Fi, or even the smartphones that are inherently harmful. The problem lies in outdated, unconstitutional laws and regulatory failures that prevent the evolution of safer technologies. These laws prioritize the profits of global wireless corporations over the health of America’s children, and they perpetuate guidelines that are a clear and present danger.
I stand before you not just as a researcher and inventor but as a father who has spent over 25 years uncovering the truth about electromagnetic radiation. I’ve already lost one child, and now my seven-year-old daughter, Melanie, sits in a classroom just 465 feet from a powerful microwave cell phone tower. Mr. President, all the credible research in the world shows this tower should be at least 1,500 feet away from her school.
Other nations—Israel, France, India—have acted on the science and put their children first. Why hasn’t America?
Safer Technologies Are Already Here
The Problem Isn’t Innovation—It’s the Laws That Block It
Mr. Trump, we already have much safer technology that can replace the harmful infrastructure and devices exposing our children to dangerous levels of microwave radiation. The science and engineering are here; the problem is the barricades created by unconstitutional laws.
Li-Fi: The Light-Based Alternative
Instead of using Wi-Fi, which relies on harmful microwave radiation, we can use Li-Fi—a data transmission technology that utilizes light waves instead of radio waves.
- Unlike microwaves, light waves don’t penetrate the body. While they carry more photon energy, they are absorbed at the skin layer, eliminating the deep tissue exposure that makes RF radiation so dangerous.
- Far-UV Li-Fi, a technology I’ve patented, takes this safety a step further. These light waves not only transmit data but also clean the air, eliminating viruses and pathogens in public spaces, schools, and homes. Imagine a classroom where every photon of data also protects children from airborne illnesses.
Satellite-to-Cell Technology
The groundbreaking direct-to-cell satellite services, championed by innovators like Elon Musk, offer a safer alternative to the sprawling network of ground-based towers saturating our communities with radiation. These systems can:
- Eliminate the need for cell towers near schools, homes, and playgrounds.
- Centralize emissions in space, far from human populations.
Safer Phones: Interferometric Array Antennas
I’ve also contributed to patents for interferometric array antennas, which dramatically reduce the radiation emitted by phones—the devices closest to our bodies. These technologies exist today and can be scaled to replace the harmful RF-emitting devices currently on the market.
The Real Barricade: Unconstitutional Laws
Section 704 of the Telecommunications Act
At the heart of the problem is Section 704 of the 1996 Telecommunications Act, a law that:
- Prohibits local governments from rejecting cell tower placements based on health concerns.
- Forces parents, teachers, and local leaders to remain silent, even when a tower is placed dangerously close to a school or playground.
- Protects outdated FCC safety guidelines that are based solely on thermal effects, ignoring the non-thermal biological harm documented in countless peer-reviewed studies.
This law is unconstitutional. It violates:
- The First Amendment: By silencing communities and barring health concerns from public hearings.
- The Tenth Amendment: By stripping local governments of their right to protect their citizens’ health and safety.
Outdated FCC Guidelines
The FCC’s guidelines, written by engineers in the 1990s, only consider whether RF radiation heats tissue. They completely ignore the non-thermal biological effects that modern science has proven to exist.
- The National Toxicology Program found clear evidence of DNA damage and cancer at RF levels below FCC limits.
- Dr. Martin Pall’s research revealed how RF radiation activates voltage-gated calcium channels in cells, causing oxidative stress and inflammation—key mechanisms in conditions like autism, ADHD, and infertility.
Mr. President, these guidelines lost in federal court for failing to protect the public. They are outdated, unscientific, and dangerous. Continuing to enforce them is a betrayal of America’s children.
A Clear Path Forward
Mr. Trump, the path to a safer future is already paved. All we need is the political will to walk it.
- Repeal Section 704 of the Telecommunications Act.
- Restore the rights of parents, communities, and local governments to challenge unsafe cell tower placements.
- Enforce Public Law 90-602.
- This 1968 law requires ongoing research into radiation risks and updated safety standards. It’s time to honor it.
- Replace Thermal-Only Guidelines.
- Demand that the FCC adopt biologically based standards that account for non-thermal effects, cumulative exposure, and the unique vulnerabilities of children.
- Mandate Safe Distances for Towers.
- Require that all cell towers be placed at least 1,500 feet from schools, playgrounds, and residential areas, as recommended by international studies.
- Promote Safer Technologies.
- Prioritize the adoption of Li-Fi, Far-UV Li-Fi, and satellite-to-cell systems that reduce harmful ground-level radiation.
